Hearing God and Walking in Purpose

After my initial encounter with God in 2006, my life continued to unfold in ways I never imagined. One of my desires at the time was to receive a supervisor position that was being discussed by my manager. As I prayed, I spoke to God openly, knowing in my heart that He heard me.

During those walks, I experienced what I can only describe as an open heaven. Though people were around, nothing distracted me—I was being revived, refreshed, and filled with excitement in God’s presence.

Although that position did not come to pass, something far greater happened.

On October 13, 2008, while lifting clothes to place into the washing machine, I heard the sovereign voice of God say: “Stop analyzing life and start living.”

His voice was peaceful, loving, kind, sweet, and comforting—yet powerful and magnificent. Instantly, my entire body was flooded with peace.

“And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 4:7

 

I knew something extraordinary had just occurred. It was a feeling I had never experienced before—utterly wonderful.

When I shared this experience with my husband, he said, “You were touched by the Holy Spirit.” From that day forward, my spirit came alive. Blinders were removed, and I began to see, hear, feel, and be led by the Holy Spirit of Almighty God.

My thoughts began transforming to align with God’s thoughts. I learned that life is not about possessions or prestige—it is about what we do with the precious gift of life God has given us and how many lives we touch along the way.

After purchasing a Bible, I was invited to a women’s gathering where speakers shared testimonies of God’s healing power. Through this divine connection, I began attending a Bible-based, non-denominational teaching church. I enrolled in classes to grow in my understanding of God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit, so I could share this truth with others.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” — Jeremiah 29:11

Throughout my journey, I learned that prayer moves the hand of God. Prayer must come from the heart, with faith and pure motives.

“If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.” — John 14:14

“But let him ask in faith, without doubting.” — James 1:6

 

God is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent. He knows all, sees all, and is always present. During a three-year period of unemployment, God was my provider and my transformer—molding and shaping me into His image. When the time was right, He opened the door for new work that strengthened and refined me.

Fear no longer had power over my life. What once felt impossible became possible through God’s strength.

“For God does not show favoritism.” — Romans 2:11

 

During that season, God also gave me priceless time with my parents. When my father was diagnosed with colon cancer, I was able to pray with him and share God’s truth. My father was promoted to heaven in May 2011, and I am forever grateful for that sacred time.

God continues to open doors no one can shut. He continually amazes me, and He faithfully gives the desires of my heart.

Prayer of Salvation:
Lord Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I repent of my sins. Come into my heart, wash me clean, and be my Lord and Savior. Amen.

Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray that every person who visits this website is touched by Your Holy Spirit. Draw them into a personal relationship with You, for nothing else can satisfy. Fill their lives with meaning, peace, wisdom, and joy. I ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
